Theresa Cheung is a full-time writer specialising in nutrition and women’s health and lifestyle issues. She holds a Masters Degree from King’s College Cambridge and, prior to writing and research, worked as a health and fitness consultant. Her previous books include The Menopause Diet, The PCOS Diet Book, You Can Beat PMS and Pregnancy Weight Management. Theresa also regularly contributes features to women’s magazines, such as Red, She, Prima and You Are What You Eat.

Jenni Murray has been the regular presenter of Radio 4's Woman's Hour since 1987. In the Queen's Birthday Honours 1999 she was awarded an OBE for radio broadcasting. Jenni is the author of The Woman's Hour, a history of women since World War. She contributes to numerous newspapers and magazines and is an occasional documentary film-maker.

She has had breast cancer twice in the last five years. She leads a seminar on Language and the Concept of Cancer for nurses at the Institute of Cancer Research. Debbie Fenlon was Val Sampson's breast care nurse when she was first diagnosed. She is now an oncology lecturer with the Institute of Cancer Research in association with the Royal Marsden NHS Trust. The foreword is by Ian Smith, Professor of Cancer Medicine, Medical Director, Royal Marsden Hospital and the Institute of Cancer Research.
